This appeal concerns whether the sentencing court imposed a constitutionally excessive sentence.

Defendant, George Dearborne, Jr., was indicted for second-degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1 and use of a firearm in the commission of second-degree murder in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.2 (repealed 1988, and reenacted as LSA-C.
