Defendant, James Robert West, was charged by bill of information with two counts of armed robbery, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. He was tried before a jury of 12 persons and was unanimously found guilty on both counts. He was sentenced to 50 years imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence on both counts, with the sentences to run concurrently.
