This action is a suit for damages in tort arising from a residential fire. Suit was filed by Northern Assurance Company (Northern), as the subrogee of its insured, Cecil Coates, the owner of the residence, against Louisiana Power & Light Company (LP & L), the supplier of electricity to the Coates residence.
