The defendant, Douglas Randall Waldrop, age 37, was charged by bill of information with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (DWI), fourth offense. La.R.S. 14:98 E. Pursuant to a plea agreement, the State allowed Waldrop to plead guilty to DWI, third offense, and dropped misdemeanor charges arising from the same incident for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
