HALL, Chief Judge.

Plaintiff, Curtis L. Hayes, Jr., appeals the dismissal with prejudice of his personal injury suit against Panola Harrison Electric Cooperative, Inc. Plaintiffs suit was dismissed for failure to appear at the trial on the merits pursuant to LSA-C.C.P. Art. 1672. For the reasons stated below, we reverse the decision of the trial court and remand for further proceedings.
