Appellant Edward Rivera Escobar, at a joint trial with co-defendant Amancio Flores, III, was found guilty by a jury of the murder of Jaime Villanueva and of the attempted murder of Jose Luis Villanueva. The jury assessed punishment for the murder at 99 years in T.D.C. and a $10,000 fine, and for the attempted murder at 20 years in T.D.C. and a $10,000 fine. The jury also made affirmative findings on use of a deadly weapon in both offenses...
