In this diversity suit, the plaintiffs allege that the defendants, by providing inadequate medical care which resulted in the death of a fetus carried by Gemma Akl, committed several common-law torts, including some actionable under the Pennsylvania Wrongful Death and Survival Acts, 42 Pa.Cons.Stat.Ann. §§ 8301-8302 (Purdon 1982 & Supp.1990).
