This is an appeal from a conviction of second-degree murder.

On June 18, 1988, the defendant, Warren Joseph Lewis, was involved in a fight at Rosie's Bar in Lafayette, Louisiana, which resulted in the stabbing death of Donald Boudreaux. According to Noel Batiste, Jr., the manager of Rosie's Bar, the defendant arrived at the bar between 3:30 and 4:00 o'clock that afternoon.
