Plaintiff, Donna Hansman Nungesser, and defendant, Hugh Lester Nungesser, were married on December 14, 1967. On July 27, 1987, Mrs. Nungesser filed a petition for separation alleging that Mr. Nungesser had treated her so cruelly as to render their living together insupportable; Mrs. Nungesser also sought alimony pendente lite.
