The plaintiffs originally filed a suit for damages arising out of an automobile accident against the alleged tortfeasors. Subsequently, upon belief that "one or more of the defendants in this matter is either uninsured or underinsured," plaintiffs amended their petition to name as an additional defendant their uninsured motorist carrier, Champion Insurance Company.
