The defendant, Frederick Chambers, and a co-defendant were arrested and charged by Bill of Information with possession of cocaine on November 11, 1988. A six member jury found Chambers guilty of attempted possession of cocaine. Thereafter, he was sentenced to serve eighteen months in the parish prison,1 suspended and was placed on three years active probation.
