On July 8, 1983 the State of Louisiana, through the Department of Transportation and Development, filed an expropriation suit in St. Charles Parish against the estate of Giles Davis. The suit alleged authorization to appropriate approximately 9.046 acres in connection with State Project number 450-38-01, or the New Orleans Loop Project, on State Route La. I-310.
