This matter arises out of the design, construction and repair of certain additions to hospital buildings belonging to plaintiff Mercy Hospital (Mercy) of Cedar Rapids. Defendant Hansen, Lind & Meyer, P.C. (HLM) is the architectural firm which designed the additions and advised Mercy on their repair when the exterior brick walls began to crumble and leak.
