Defendant, Terry Bailey, was charged by indictment with the offenses of home invasion (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 12-11), armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 18-2), residential burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 19-3), and unlawful use of weapons by a felon (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 24-1.1(a)).
