LAVERY, J.

The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, after a jury trial, of operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a (a). He claims that the trial court should have granted his motion for a judgment of acquittal and failed to instruct the jury properly on the meaning of the term "operate" as it is used in § 14-227a (a). We affirm the trial court's judgment.
