Appellant Enrique Martinez sued appellee Carlos Becerra for damages arising out of an automobile accident which occurred on December 31, 1985. Suit was timely filed on December 30, 1987. Personal jurisdiction over the proper defendant1 was not obtained until March 17, 1989, when appellee filed an answer. See Tex.R.Civ.P. 121.
