Defendant was convicted of five counts of criminal solicitation, OCGA § 16-4-7. He was represented by appointed counsel and sentence was entered on July 20, 1989. A pro se notice of appeal was filed on August 15. New counsel, appointed for the appeal, filed a motion for new trial on August 18, also within thirty days of the sentence. By order of February 16, 1990, the trial court denied the motion and counsel filed the second notice of appeal...
