Defendant was convicted of five counts of criminal solicitation, OCGA § 16-4-7. He was represented by appointed counsel and sentence was entered on July 20, 1989. A pro se notice of appeal was filed on August 15. New counsel, appointed for the appeal, filed a motion for new trial on August 18, also within thirty days of the sentence.
