In the early morning hours of March 15, 1986, defendant attacked a man in the bathroom of a bar in the City of Binghamton, Broome County. Defendant savagely beat the man about the head and face, breaking his nose and the orbit of the man's right eye. Defendant then demanded money. The victim refused and managed to end the attack by pushing defendant through the bathroom door and out into the bar. As a result of this incident, a Grand Jury returned...
