John Reusch filed an action pursuant to the Federal Employers Liability Act ("FELA"), 45 U.S.C. § 51 et seq., against Seaboard System Railroad ("Seaboard"), alleging both negligence and failure to provide a reasonably safe place to work. The jury returned a $50,000 verdict for Reusch, and the trial court entered judgment on the verdict.
