Defendant was charged by information with criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 12-13(a)(1)) on May 10, 1988. A Morgan County jury found defendant guilty on January 13, 1989, and on March 7, 1989, the court sentenced him to six years' imprisonment. At trial defendant admitted he and the victim had sexual intercourse on February 18, 1989, but maintained it was consensual...
