Defendant Robert Harrison was indicted for violation of R.S. 14:30.1, second degree murder, resulting from a street corner altercation which culminated in a shooting death. After two mistrials, one by a hung jury, defendant was found guilty of a responsive verdict, manslaughter, a violation of R.S. 14:31. Harrison was adjudged a habitual offender and sentenced to forty-two years at hard labor. Defendant appealed and after remand was resentenced...
