Plaintiff John Morgan, a black male, has brought this action pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e, as amended, and 42 U.S.C. § 1981 alleging, among other things, that his former employer, defendant Massachusetts General Hospital (the "Hospital"), refused to promote him and ultimately discharged him because of his race.
