The appellant, Jerry C. Pendergrass, was convicted of six counts of possessing obscene material with intent to distribute by a jury of his peers. The trial judge sentenced the appellant to pay a fine of $1,000 and serve six months in the local workhouse as to each count; and he ordered that the jail sentences are to be served concurrently.
