Petitioner, Gilbert Ramos, and respondent Luz Ramos (hereinafter respondent) were married in 1978 and have two daughters, Tandy, born in 1979, and Linette, born in 1983. Both parties originally came from Puerto Rico before ultimately settling in Tompkins County.
