The sole question presented by this appeal is whether the trial judge erred in granting defendant's motion for new trial.

The facts upon which this appeal rests are as follows. On June 27, 1986, while working as a cashier at Handy Andy Pantries, Inc., Deloris Talley purchased a box of Kellogg's raisin bran cereal and a container of milk.
