F. Clifford Hobbs sued Pacific Hide and Fur Depot for his claimed wrongful discharge from employment in the District Court, Eighth Judicial District, Cascade County. His theories of recovery, which were submitted to the jury, included actual fraud, constructive fraud, breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and negligent misrepresentation.
