The dispositive issue in this appeal is whether a trial court has the authority to modify a jury award to include attorney's fees incurred in defending an appeal. We conclude that the trial court has no such authority.

The relevant facts are not in dispute. On March 29, 1983, the plaintiffs, Edward J. O'Leary and Raymond M. Vincunas, commenced an action against the defendant, the Industrial Park Corporation, for breach of contract, misrepresentation...
