This tort suit is for injuries resulting from an elevator accident.

Margaret Surgi was injured on August 7, 1985, when an elevator suddenly rose several inches as she was stepping into it, causing her to trip and fall forward. Mrs. Surgi was returning from lunch with a group of her co-employees at AT & T, whose offices were located in Jefferson, in a building owned by the Elmwood Development Company.
