CIACCIO, Judge.

Defendant, Walter Washington was charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling. La.R.S. 14:62.2. Following a lunacy hearing he was found sane to stand trial. A jury convicted him as charged. He was sentenced, on this charge, as a second offender, to serve eight years at hard labor, the first year to be without benefit of parole, probation, suspension of sentence, or good time.
