This appeal arises from a civil action in the district court for Douglas County for damages for personal injuries suffered by the plaintiff, Lynn Didonato, in a motor vehicle accident. On November 13, 1983, the plaintiff was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car driven by Carl Paniko, traveling eastbound on Maple Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
