OPINION

O'BRIEN, Justice.

This case originated with an indictment against defendant in the Davidson County Criminal Court charging him with the offenses of aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping. After a number of continuances the case came to trial on 17 November 1986. For various reasons, related in the record, defendant elected to enter into a plea agreement which was approved by the court. On 10 December 1986 defendant moved to withdraw his guilty...
