At issue in this case is whether a superintendent of a county board of education is a "supervisor" within the meaning of the teacher tenure law, Ala.Code 1975, § 16-24-1 et seq. The Winston County Board of Education determined that the petitioner, Letha G. Weaver, had abandoned her teaching position and relinquished her continuing service status (tenure) by seeking and being elected to the office of Winston County superintendent of education...
