HARWELL, Justice:

This case involves preemption of the state law cause of action for the tort of outrageous conduct (intentional infliction of emotional stress) by Section 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act [29 U.S.C. § 185 (1978)] ("LMRA"). We granted certiorari to review the decision of the Court of Appeals in Nash v. AT&T Nassau Metals, 294 S.C. 248
