OPINION

RUSSELL, Bankruptcy Judge:

After filing his bankruptcy petition and receiving a discharge of his debts, the debtor's former wife died. Thereafter, the debtor brought an action pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 523(a)(5) seeking to discharge a $47,000 debt for support owed to his former wife. Both the debtor and his former wife's estate filed summary judgment motions. The bankruptcy court granted the debtor's motion and ruled that the former wife's death...
