In its complaint filed in the county court for Lancaster County, the State charged that Kevin D. Gerdes, on December 7, 1987, operated a motor vehicle while he was under the influence of alcoholic liquor and alleged that the offense was Gerdes' third violation of the statute against drunk driving.
