This is a consolidation of three appeals from the Erie County Court of Common Pleas, originally numbered E-88-3, E-88-10, and E-88-30. Carl W. Viock and his wife brought suit against his employer, Stowe-Woodward Company ("Stowe-Woodward") for an intentional tort. The trial court awarded the Viocks $3,500,000 in damages plus "ten percent interest from the date of the filing of this entry." Both parties appealed and this award was modified to
