In these consolidated cases, we consider whether mediation sanctions under GCR 1963, 316.7 and 316.8, now MCR 2.403(O), may properly include (a) postjudgment appellate attorney fees or (b) interest on costs and attorney fees and whether the trial court erred in denying, in part, defendant Pontiac's request for expert witness fees. For the reasons stated below, we hold that they may not and it did not.
