Appellant Ballard was charged and convicted in a trial by jury of attempted robbery while armed causing serious bodily injury to the victim, a Class A felony. I.C. 35-42-5-1; I.C. 35-41-5-1. The court handed down a sentence of thirty years imprisonment. I.C. 35-50-2-4.
