Melvin Walker was charged by bill of information with two counts of distribution of cocaine, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967, and one count of distribution of marijuana, in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:966. He was tried by a jury, which convicted him as charged on each of the offenses. The trial court imposed a sentence of twenty-five years at hard labor on each of the cocaine distribution convictions.
