The defendant, Charles Beard, was charged with reckless homicide, driving under the influence of alcohol, and failure to drive on the right side of the road. Following a jury trial, the defendant was convicted of all three offenses. He was sentenced to a fine of $1,000 and a one-year term of probation, conditioned on serving six months of work release, for the charge of driving under the influence...
