The defendant, Thomas Hall, was charged with murder in violation of General Statutes § 53a-54a and, after a trial to a jury, was convicted of manslaughter in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-55 (a) (1). On March 11, 1985, the defendant was sentenced to a prison term of not less than ten nor more than twenty years.
