This lawsuit stems from a dispute between the plaintiff, a police officer in Wareham, and the town over the validity of two agreements. The agreements were signed while proceedings were pending to discharge the plaintiff from the police force at the time he was receiving benefits under G.L.c. 41, § 111F. In the first agreement, executed on November 20, 1984, the plaintiff withdrew his claim for § 111F benefits and took an unpaid leave of absence...
