John Edward Swindler appeals from the District Court's1 denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. We affirm.

On September 24, 1976, Swindler, in flight from South Carolina where he was wanted for the murders of two teenagers, stopped off at a service station in Fort Smith, Arkansas apparently to ask directions...
