Johnson was originally indicted for possession of an unregistered sawed-off shotgun, in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861(d). (R.1A Tab 1). The magistrate denied Johnson's motion to suppress physical evidence seized and statements made in connection with his arrest on that charge. Thereafter, a multi-defendant eight count indictment issued, charging Johnson with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution over five kilograms of cocaine...
