Defendant, Earl Breaux, Jr., was charged by bill of information with attempted first degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30 and 14:27, and armed robbery, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:64. On March 31, 1988, defendant was convicted by a 12-member jury of armed robbery and of attempted manslaughter, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:31 and 14:27.
