On January 4, 1988 the defendant, Jose Vanderlinder, and a co-defendant, Juan Medina, were charged with possession of cocaine in an amount over 400 grams in violation of LSA-R.S. 40:967. Vanderlinder, the defendant herein, was found guilty as charged after a jury trial conducted on July 12-14, 1988. He was sentenced on September 30, 1988 to serve twenty-five years...
