Carlos Lowery Young, Jr. was robbed and killed on February 18, 1984. The plaintiff-appellant, Calvin Lewis Owens, Jr. was mistakenly identified as one of Young's black assailants and indicted by the Fulton County Grand Jury on charges of murder and armed robbery.
