Jimmy Brumfield (defendant) was indicted by the St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury for the second degree murder of Patricia Booker, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30.1. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty, and, at trial, the jury found the defendant guilty as charged. Subsequently, the trial court sentenced the defendant to the mandatory term of life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence. This appeal...
