COATS, Judge.

Chris N. Nelson was convicted, following a jury trial, of sexual assault in the first degree and kidnapping. AS 11.41.410 and AS 11.41.300(a)(1)(C). Nelson appeals his conviction and we reverse.

On November 17, 1985, Nelson was charged with the sexual assault and kidnapping of N.F. in Seward, Alaska. Nelson's major contention on appeal is that he was denied his right to an impartial jury. Nelson argues that Superior Court Judge...
