Defendant, Gregory Griffin, was charged in a Tangipahoa Parish Grand Jury indictment with first degree murder, a violation of La.R.S. 14:30. He pled not guilty and was tried by jury. The trial ended in a mistrial when the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Subsequently, defendant's motion for a change of venue was granted; and the case was transferred to St. Tammany Parish. Following a second jury trial, defendant was found guilty of manslaughter...
